Mr. Premode Neerunjun, Chairman - MBC Board

Premode Neerunjun est chef du Cabinet au Bureau du Premier ministre. Il détient entre autres un BSC en Économie et Gestion de l’Université de Londres ; un Graduate Diploma en Business et une maîtrise en Public Policy and Administration

Mr Moonendra Nudhi Sharma (Anooj) RAMSURRUN is the Director-General of the MBC.

He has held several senior positions at the MBC. He was assigned the duties of Deputy Director-General of the MBC since 01 June 2017 to 28 April 2018, where he was instrumental in assisting in the execution of the MBC strategic and operational management.

He was appointed as Officer-in-Charge of the MBC on 29 April 2018, a responsibility which he executed up to 14 August 2019, catering for the smooth operational management of the MBC.

As Consultant (News) of MBC from 02 October 2019 to 16 February 2020, he played a pivotal role in the strategic design of the MBC newsroom. He was appointed as Deputy Director-General on 17 February 2020, before his appointment as Acting Director-General.  He was appointed as Director-General on 17 February 2022.

Having moved up through several operational and management layers of the MBC since more than 30 years, he also reckons a wide experience in conception, design and execution of Graphics Animation of public broadcasting. 

Having been the Secretary of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation Staff Association (MBCSA) from June 2011 to February 2015, he is not only well-conversant in trade union operations but is also well-positioned in the promotion of staff welfare.

Mr Ramsurrun holds a Degree in Political Science (Institute of Management & Technical Studies -Delhi, India) and a Diploma in Educational Television, Programme Production and Direction (Deutsche Welle Television Training Centre, Berlin, Germany), in addition to possessing several certificates in Computer Graphics, Video and Computer Animation from national and international institutions.

 

Mrs Shalini Devi DOMUN, Ex Officio Member

Mrs Shalini Devi DOMUN holds the post of Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office. She is serving as an ex-officio member on the MBC Board since 09 May 2023.

 

Mr Kavish Pultoo, Ex-Officio Member

Mr Kavish Pultoo is the Director, Information Services at the Government Information Services. He serves as an ex-officio member on the MBC Board.

He has more than 10 years’ experience as Journalist at the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. He has also served as Senior Advisor on Communication and Policy Matters at the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

He is holder of a Licence (avec mention) in Langues, Littératures, et Civilisation Étrangères, obtained from Université Lumière (Lyon 2 France).

Mr Vijay Chandreeka Ah Ku, Board Member

Mr Vijay Chandreeka Ah Ku was appointed as a Member on the MBC Board on 27 May 2016. He reckons over 40 years’ teaching experience in Mauritius and abroad. He is a retired Rector/ Administrator of a secondary school. He has a proven and extensive track record in various social, academic and economic institutions.

He holds a BsC (Biochemistry), from Punjab University. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Management (PGDEM) with distinction from the Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE).

He is a Committee Member of the Mauritius Economic Society, a Honorary Member of the Mauritius Secondary Schools’ Sports Association, and a Former President of the Association of Rectors of Private Secondary Schools of Mauritius.

Mr Avinash Venkama, Board Member

Mr Avinash Venkama was appointed as a Member on the MBC Board on 27 May 2016. He is a professional in the field of Marketing. He started his career as Marketing Assistant in 2005, and quickly advanced to the positions of Advertising Executive and Brand coordinator in highly reputed agencies within two years. From 2006 to 2009, he held senior positions such as Head-Corporate Communications and Public Relations & Communication Manager in two companies. He furthered his academic qualifications and strengthened his entrepreneur skills in India from June 2012 to June 2014, where he set up several start-ups in different lines/ Markets. He has been offering his services as Project Head on a consultancy basis to the United Nations/ European Union/ Switch Africa Green since November 2015. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Integrated Marketing Communications & Specialization in Brand Management, from De Chazal du Mass Business School (now Charles Telfair), a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Specialization- Marketing, from MIT school of Distance, Education- Pune, and a Masters in Business Administration, Specialisation- Marketing, from MIT School of Distance Education, Pune. He is currently doing his LLB with the University of London.

Mr Jason Maulette, Board Member

Jason started his career at corporate level in a large firm where he undertook several projects like implementation of HR and Remuneration strategies. During the last 10 years, he held positions in sectors such as the Information Technology, Communication & Outsourcing, where he implemented diverse projects.He is very conversant in Industrial Relations and Union’s matters, where he participated in various negotiations. He is presently in the FMCG sector.Jason holds a BSC in Human Resources Management from the University of Mauritius.He was appointed as a Member of the MBC Board on 4th November 2020.

 

Mr. M.S. Nahaboo Solim, Board Member

Mr. Nahaboo Solim holds a bachelor degree in Accounting Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.  He has experience in providing financial services to companies operating in various sectors of the Mauritian Economy, such as Sugar, Energy, Manufacturing, hospitality & Leisure, among others. He was appointed as a Member of the MBC Board on 28th December 2020.
