Due to heart attack, the characters portrayed by Mahadevan and Shukla share a common room in the ICU ward of a hospital.The film has beautifully captured the contrast in how both the characters perceive their conditions. While one makes fun about it because he is seasoned as it is his third attack, the other is terrified on experiencing his first. Staying Alive is a movie about being thankful at the joy of just staying alive.
